For whatever reason -- could it be the massive protest on Facebook?... -- the organizers of Alternatives 2010, the NEC, apologized to Will Hall, and restored his workshop in its original form. Will Hall has agreed to withdraw his cancellation, and to do the workshop as planned. Yay! Have a great conference, everybody!

Duane: Everybody on Facebook is like "Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" I -- and a few others -- am not. I consider it the only decent thing to do, a matter of course, by the NEC.

BTW, I never reached to reply to your comment where you mentioned you've got a puppy. Congrats!! Except for the horses, who are a bit difficult to keep in the house, cuddling in front of this screen, warming you inside and outside, lying on the duvet (yes, yes, I know you shouldn't allow them access to your bed... ), I haven't had a pet for a couple of years or so before Calvin moved in recently. I don't know how I managed!

Don't sweat not responding about the new dog... Most of my comments have been kinda lengthy lately, and I'm just grateful you've read them, and responded the way you have.
Anwyay, "Sam" is a beautiful animal, six months old today - she's got a lot of playfulness from the yellow lab inside her, and a strong herding/protective instinct from the collie... She's neat!

Yes, this is great news. But, the fact that it happened shouldn't be swept under the rug. Why? Who?
If questions aren't asked, the powers that be - SAMHSA? NEC? will do this over and over again. What exactly is the message that they are trying to squash? Someone even went as far as to say it was the anti-psychiatry movement that instigated the censorship. "No drugs! EVER!" being their motto they can abide by Will Hall's acceptance of people's choice to stay on or just taper.
Silly opinions like this will grow if real answers are not revealed.

Kristin: yeah, it'll be interesting to hear their "excuse" for this major faux pas. I'm quite convinced that SAMHSA is the main force behind it, but I was also really disappointed to see Dan Fisher defend it on Facebook. He says that he personally is pro choice -- and how could he be anything else, having been labelled himself, and having chosen to go off the drugs. But what is his personal conviction worth, if he betrays it in the face of SAMHSA/Big pHARMa?? Here in Denmark we call people who behave this way "miljøskadet", damaged by the environment they are a part of...
